When the VAC content decreases, the performance approaches that of polyethylene, with increased rigidity, improved wear resistance, and electrical insulation,. If the VAC content is constant and the melt index increases, the softening point decreases, the workability and surface gloss improve, but the strength will decrease. Otherwise, with the decrease of MI, the molecular weight increases, and the impact performance and environmental stress cracking resistance improve. The polarity of acetate ions increases elasticity and viscosity, decreases crystallinity and electrical properties, and is soluble in hydrocarbon solvents and oils.
